Q. When and where is the next More Magazine Reinvention Convention?

A. The next Reinvention Convention will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010, in The Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center (ITC), located at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW at 13th Street in Washington, DC.

Q. When will registration open?

Q. How can I register for the Reinvention Convention?

A. Register online or call 800-723-7008 to register by phone after December 18, 2009.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. The early bird registration rate for the Reinvention Convention is $175 until January 20, 2010. Then the regular price of $195 goes into effect.

Q. What is included in the price?

A. The Reinvention Convention is an all-day event with speakers and panelists including Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour, Event Emcee Mika Brzezinski, Barbara Corcoran, Lee Woodruff, Jean Chatzky, Dr. Gail Saltz, Dr. Madelyn Fernstrom, Dr. Pamela Peeke, Pamela Mitchell and more. All speakers are subject to last-minute change. A continental breakfast (coffee, tea, juice and assorted pastries), full sit-down lunch and a gift bag are also included. In addition, coffee, tea, soft drinks and assorted refreshments will be available throughout the day including during the morning and afternoon breaks.

Q. Can I cancel my registration once I’ve paid?

A. No. All registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.

Q. How should I dress?

A. There is no official dress code. We recommend that you dress comfortably.

Q. How do I get there and what about parking?

Q. What time should I arrive?

A. Registration begins at 8:15am, and the Reinvention Expo opens at the same time. A continental breakfast will be available from 8:15am-9:15am. More Editor-in-Chief Lesley Jane Seymour and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski will make opening remarks at approximately 9:15am, and will be followed immediately by our morning keynote speaker.

Q. What should I bring with me to the event?

A. Be sure to bring a copy of your email registration confirmation and a photo ID to the onsite registration desk. At check-in, you will receive a program with schedule and bios of our speakers, a notebook and a pen, so you won’t need to bring those items from home.

Q. What if I’m late?

A. No problem. We’ll be glad to help you join the program of your choice in progress.

Q. Will I be able to come back to the event if I need to leave for a while?

A. Yes. Attendees will enter and exit through the main entrance of The Ronald Reagan Building/ITC.

Q. Are cameras allowed?

A. Yes, BUT photography, audio and video recording will NOT be permitted during the sessions. Attendees will be required to check any video recording equipment upon arrival.

Q. Are cell phones allowed?

A. Yes, but cell phones should be turned off or turned to vibrate during all sessions.

Q. Are computers allowed?

A. Yes. We will also have a few computers stationed in the Reinvention Expo area so that you can check your email during the day.

Q. Will there be a coat/bag check?

A. Yes. The coat/bag check is located adjacent to the Atrium inside the Ronald Reagan/ITC building, close to the event registration desk. You will be directed to the correct location upon arrival. We do recommend that you bring as little as possible with you to the event.

Q. Will the event be handicap accessible?

A. Yes. The Ronald Reagan/ITC Building is handicap accessible. Contact us should you need visual and/or hearing-impaired assistance at MoreReinvention@more.com.

Q. Is there an age restriction on attendees?

A. Yes. You must be 21 years or older to attend the Reinvention Convention.

Q. Can I bring my baby/child or pet with me to the event?

A. Babies and children under 21 are not permitted at the event. Pets are not allowed on site.

Q. Can men attend?

A. Yes.

Q. Will there be a gift bag and, if so, what will be in it?

A. Yes. The gift bag will include promotional items from our sponsors and partners, along with the current issue of More magazine.

Q. Will food be served?

A. Yes, a continental breakfast and full sit-down lunch will be served, plus coffee, tea, soft drinks and refreshments will be available all day.

Q. How long is each session?

A. Most sessions will run for 45-50 minutes. Remarks by keynote speakers will be approximately 45 minutes in length, but the time allotted for breakfast and lunch is 90 minutes in order to accommodate food service. There will also be a few breaks during the day when you can visit the Reinvention Expo and interact with other guests, More editors and our sponsors.

Q. Will there be assigned seating at the event?

A. Most seating will be first-come, first-served. We do reserve a few tables for our event sponsors; they will be clearly marked with raised “reserved” signs.

Q. Are the sessions going to be interactive?

A. Each speaker or panel moderator will determine the degree of interactivity at her session. Most sessions include time for questions.

Q. How many people do you expect at the event?

A. We anticipate that approximately 500-600 people will attend the Reinvention Convention.

Q. How many people do you anticipate in each session?

A. We plan for full attendance of 500-600 people at breakfast, lunch and closing keynote events and approximately 250 attendees per Master Class session.

Q. Can I meet or get autographs from the speakers?

A. It cannot be guaranteed given the number of attendees we anticipate at the event. We may arrange book signings or meet-and-greets with a few of our speakers, and many of them will stay in the room following their sessions to say hello and answer a few remaining questions.

Q. I don’t live in or near Washington, DC. Where should I stay?

A. Please go to the Nearby Hotels in Washington, DC for information about a range of accommodations in the area. We may also have a special hotel rate for Reinvention Convention attendees – check back soon for updates!

Q. When and where will the other Reinvention Convention events take place?

A. We are currently planning Reinvention Convention events on May 17, 2010 in Chicago and October 4, 2010 in New York City. Check back soon for more details.
